Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 31, 2026
1. Introduction
At charged ("we", "us", or "our"), your privacy is a top priority. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use our Discord bot, web dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). We believe in transparency and only collect data that is strictly necessary to provide, maintain, and improve our Services.
2. Information We Collect
When you interact with charged, we may collect the following data points:
- Discord User Data: Your Discord user ID, username, discriminator, and avatar URL. This is used strictly for identification and dashboard authentication purposes.
- Server (Guild) Data: Server IDs, names, icon URLs, role configurations, channel configurations, and server settings necessary for the bot's operation.
- Message Data: Message content is temporarily processed in memory for executing commands, auto-moderation, and filtering. We do not permanently store message contents unless explicitly configured by a server administrator (e.g., for Ticket transcripts or specific Audit Logging).
- Economy Data: Virtual currency balances (Coins and Units), inventory items, and transaction history associated with your user ID.
- Dashboard Analytics: Non-personally identifiable information such as browser type, device type, IP address, and page visits to improve our web interface and protect against abuse.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information exclusively to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the functionality of the charged bot and dashboard.
- Execute commands, automate roles, and enforce moderation rules configured by server administrators.
- Process virtual economy transactions and maintain the global leaderboard.
- Improve performance, troubleshoot bugs, and develop new features.
- Authenticate users securely via Discord's OAuth2 system.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access to our Services.
4. Data Storage and Security
All persistent data (such as server settings, welcome messages, economy profiles, and protection configurations) is stored securely in encrypted Supabase (PostgreSQL) databases. We employ industry-standard security measures, including encryption at rest and in transit (HTTPS/WSS), to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain data only for as long as it is necessary to provide our Services.
- Server Data: If you kick the charged bot from your server, the system automatically marks your server data (configurations, auto-responders, analytics, welcome messages) for deletion. A fully automated background system permanently purges this data after exactly 30 days. This gives you a 30-day grace period to recover your settings if you re-invite the bot.
- User Data: Your global profile and economy data (balances, inventory, crates) are retained independently from server data to ensure continuity across the bot network. You may request complete deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request the deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Restrict Processing: You can ask us to suspend the processing of your data.
- Right to Data Portability: You can request your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact our support team.
7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required by your local jurisdiction, such as 16 in certain EU countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.
8. Third-Party Services
Our Services rely on Discord's API. Your data is therefore subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for how Discord handles your data on their platform.
9. Contact Us
If you have privacy-related inquiries, data deletion requests, or questions about this policy, please contact us on our official Support Server.
